1990-1992 Project Manager- BP Oil Europe – Assembled and led expert teams negotiating BP’s interests in major refining and marketing projects. Teams were responsible for economic analysis, engineering and operability studies, and joint venture agreements. Projects included acquisition of a $4 billion East German refining and marketing complex , divestiture of a European fuels refinery and supply operation for $250 million, and joint study with Soviet experts to explore conversion and upgrading of the Soviet Union’s downstream business to free market economics.

1990 General Manager Flares and combustion – Full accountability for the worldwide flares and combustion products business of BP. Responsible for normal operations as well as acquisitions and divestitures. Divested a money losing and strategically disadvantaged division from this $25 million (sales) business and developed a plan to focus and streamline the flares business in Europe.

1988-1990 President – Kaldair USA – Full accountability for North American flares and combustion products business of BP. Turned business around from a $15 million loss in 1988 to a profit of $1 million in 1990.

1984-1988 Manager Operations planning for retail marketing – Sohio Oil – Led group responsible for pricing policy and administration, operations planning, government affairs liaison, and consumer research for BP’s 8.5 million gallon per day American oil business.

Created plans and analysis for long range development of retail marketing in the USA.

1981-1982 Manager Products Control- Sohio Oil – Coordinated implementation of monthly refining and supply plans in the USA to optimize results for three sites (400,000 BPD)

1980-1981 Area Maintenance Supervisor- BP Oil Inc – Supervised the execution of all maintenance work for approximately one-half the Marcus Hook Refinery. Directed work force of approximately 100 company personnel during routine conditions and up to 1000 union contract employees in turnaround situations

1976-1980 Shutdown planner; senior long range planner- BP Oil Inc.
Developed and then led the development of plans and schedules for major unit turnarounds at 180,000 BPD complex cracking refinery.
